Sixth form student, Nicholas J Barlow, has recently become a new host on Brum Community Media’s, Hope Radio. He will be hosting New Music Live from Studio 5, a show made to champion new, and independent, music from in and around the West Midlands (along with a few national and international musical artists thrown into the mix). The show debuted at in the end of February, has all been done during the lockdown, and is currently looking for new music to feature on the show!
Before being given the opportunity after featuring on the station’s second community poem, organised by Ian Henery and Peni Whelan, Nick was a host of a podcast surrounding the entertainment industry. The Unscripted Podcast.is a podcast which is exactly what it says on the tin, and centres around relaxed interviews with industry leaders, trailblazers, and names you are yet to know. It is still being produced but is currently on hiatus. All alongside writing poetry, acting, and consulting with brands and businesses on marketing and strategy.
When given the opportunity, Nick said, “I can’t wait to host what I hope will be THE flagship show for New Music in, and around Birmingham”. He hopes that the show will bring some light in the dark times we are currently living in.
