Acclaimed Walsall poet Gerald Kells presents his first one show of spoken word, poetry and music as part of the Midlands Fringe.
He begins with his 1979 Christian Rock Radio show. He follows his journey from a Christian Youth Club to the Greenbelt Rock festival and centres round three songs which changed his life and inspired him on a course towards social justice and environment protection.
He includes poems inspired at the time and now. He answers three critical questions (for those who don’t know):
1. Why he was so unlucky with girls
2. How he got to see one of the biggest bands in the world without realising
And
3. Why Radio One still owe him a favour.
The show promotes peace and love and unity. There is, however, a risk of pogoing and he will say nice things about Palestinians.
