On Wednesday 30th March Adventureland celebrated its 10th Birthday.

Angela Underhill, Walsall’s Mayor joined the celebrations. Councillor Underhill was a big supporter of the venture when it came before the planning committee 10 years ago.  Angela recalled the tremendous facities the indoor play centre was offering and the opportunities it provided for the local community.

Since it opened the centre has welcomed over 300,000 children through its doors. It has also provided employment opportunities for many young people, some of whom have benefited from the experience in their future careers and gone on to University obtain degrees in medicine, teaching, linguistics and industry.

Adventureland has one of the biggest playframe for miles around, an excellent café with adult and children’s menus, Parent & Toddler Sessions, Hi Tech Children’s Parties, an Indoor Climbing Tower and Laser Games.

Earlier this month Adventureland was awarded “The Highly Commended Category” from Best of Walsall.  In 2009 Adventureland opened its Day Nursery which has also become highly successful with an Ofsted rating of Outstanding.

Birthday guests were entertained with face painting, glitter tattoos, balloon modelling and many of the centres mascots.  The Mayor, Councillor Underhill was there to cut the cake and get the celebration underway.
