The newly invested Mayor and Mayoress of Walsall, Cllr Gary and Mrs Yvonne Clarke, have adopted Walsall Hospice as the their primary charity for their Mayoral year in office. Their inaugural fundraising event will be the Mayor's Gala Charity Concert, to be held at the Town Hall, Walsall on Saturday 10th July 2010, commencing at 7.30pm.

This musical extravaganza will feature local 9 year old singing sensation from 'Britain's Got Talent', Connie Talbot, the Birmingham Philharmonic Concert Band, the Choir of St Peter's Collegiate Church, Wolverhampton and the event will be compered by the well known Brummie comedian, author and playwright, Malcolm Stent.
The evening's repertoire will include a rich and inspiring combination of traditional prom classics such as Jerusalem, Pomp & Circumstance No 1, 633 Squadron and the Dambuster's March, together with favorites from both the Glen Miller and Vera Lynn collections.
Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £7 for children and as an incentive for families, social groups, business colleagues, friends and neighbours to join us, for every ten tickets purchased, one will be free, all as per the attached ticket order form. Business Sponsorship Opportunities

You will be aware that the new Walsall Hospice is now under construction in Goscote, with completion expected in autumn 2010. In a ground-breaking initiative, the £5.5 million building has been financed by the NHS and will be leased back to the Hospice. However, before the first patients arrive in February 2011, we need to raise £1.5 million in order to finance the fit-out of their new building and the provision of the specialist facilities and equipment required to provide the highest standard of palliative care for the terminally ill.

Therefore, if you are a business in Walsall you may want to consider sponsoring this fantastic event and help raise vital funds for this worthy cause.

You may consider taking up one of the following options available on the night:

•   Sponsorship of one of the performers / items listed on the form.

•   Placing a black & white quarter-page advertisement in the concert programme at a cost of £120, inclusive of  two tickets. (art work to be provided)

•  Erecting your company’s 1.0m wide ‘pop-up’ stand in the Town Hall foyer / entrance for the duration of the concert at a cost of £100, inclusive of four tickets.
