Walsall Hold Lively County

Walsall entertained Notts County hoping to carry on the good work in their previous two league games. Our visitors had endured a poor start to their campaign and were looking to kick start their season with a win. Saddlers gave a full league debut to Romaine Sawyers with Milan Lalkovich out injured. The first half of the game was almost a non-event. The only noteworthy bit of action was a shot from Ashley Hemmings. Walsall's passing game escaped them at times and several players were not top of their game.

The second half started in explosive fashion with Saddlers taking the lead in the first few minutes. Sawyers got hold of the ball inside the half and burst forward. When he reached 25 yards from goal he had two passing options but instead elected to fire in a shot which gave visiting keeper Bartosz Bialkowski no chance . The longer the second half went though the more County came into it and it was no surprise really when they drew level Arquin headed come from a cross. It could have been worse for Walsall as the same player scored again but for the goal to be ruled out for offside. So two points dropped really but the way Notts ended the game it could have been all three.
