Slick Walsall provided one of their best performances of the season at Preston to win the game 3-1 and continue their recent good run as almost everything went right for them with goals coming from Febian Brandy, Paul Downing and James Baxendale. Walsall showed their determination from the off demonstrating their new found determination again. The opening goal wasn't long in coming and it was that man Febian Brandy who is in such good goalscoring form at the moment who finished off a move following good work from Will Grigg down the left.

Walsall's second goal saw a first claim for young central defender Paul Downing who rose to head home a Adam Chambers cross. James Baxendale hasn't been able to force his way into the first team since November but he marked his return at Deepdale with a fine goal in the 55th minute. Just when it seemed The Saddlers would top off their fine afternoon's work with a clean sheet up popped Bailey Wright to get a consolation goal for Preston who were soundly beaten by Walsall.
