As a footballer, it can often be a career that ends at an early age, or due to injury, so many lower league players are beginning to look at different careers when their time in football has come to an end.

Andy Butler, captain of Walsall FC, has enrolled onto a plumbing course at Walsall Training Centre, with the aim of gaining qualifications that will help him support his family in future years.

Andy attends the course on his day off or after training sessions and is currently studying 'Plumbing Level 2' with the hope that he will progess to 'Level 3' next year.

As well as undertaking this qualification the Walsall FC footballer is also studying to become a referee so he has the opportunity to officiate the game after his playing career has finished.

Walsall Training Centre offers a wide variety of high quality training courses in the plumbing, gas, electrical and construction industries. To read more about the courses they offer click here or contact them on 01922 612121
