The session, which took place on Thursday 25 September 2025, offered free practical tips for locals from expert advisors to reduce their energy consumption and lower their bills ahead of the colder months.
The initiative is part of a wider effort supported by a £1.5 million grant from the National Lottery Community Fund, which is helping local organisations support Walsall residents and communities to take action on high energy bills and the climate crisis.
Residents received advice on simple measures, including how to make free draft excluders, and were offered free radiator reflectors to direct heat, and free LED-light bulbs.

The project also highlighted its ongoing services, such as home visits and community events across the borough. To engage younger residents, the sessions also included free, interactive painting sessions focused on energy-saving techniques.
The Walsall Energy Action Project continues to offer free advice and support to local residents. The next WEAP climate event will be held on Tuesday 9 December at the Walsall town hall.
