Mrs Evans, known as Mrs Farrell at the time, was a member of the Labour party, and was first elected to represent Darlaston South in May 1987.
She served as Mayor of Walsall in 1999-2000 and retired from the Council in 2004.
During her mayoral year, she worked hard to raise funds to support Macmillan Walsall Cancer Care appeal and The Sister Dora Hospice appeal.
The Mayor of Walsall, Councillor Louise Harrison, paid tribute to the late Mrs Evans.

The Leader of Walsall Council, Councillor Mike Bird also paid tribute to Mrs Evans.
