Walsall treated their fans to a brilliant 4-2 win at MK Dons on Boxing Day in a most unexpected win. In doing so they broke a record going back over twelve years as it was the first time they had recorded four goals on their travels since August 2000. The Saddlers did it in some style too, with some brilliant goals. Amazingly the home side had only conceded five goals at StadiumMK all season and here's Walsall almost reaching that total in one game at theirs!

Ryan Lowe scored an early goal for The Dons with Walsall's defence asleep as he was given the freedom to hit home. Walsall soon got in their stride however and the in-form Febien Brandy composed himself to slot home. Then came one of Walsall's goals of the season. Jamie Paterson launched a long ball which Will Grigg gave chase, brilliantly turned his man and produced a wonderful curling shot which gave the keeper no chance. Six minutes later Walsall were pegged back when Dean Bowditch levelled but Walsall regained the lead just before half time when Will Grigg slotted home his second, from four yards out.

The second half was never going to be as goal crazy as the first but Will Grigg was unlucky not to claim a hat trick when his header struck the bar. Try as hard as they could, MK Dons could not get back into the game and in time added on Jamie Paterson made it safe with a low shot that went in off the post.
