Unchained Wisdom’s Catchup Positivity, Poetry, Hope and Help

Hi fellow humans, I hope everyone is having an epic, good, or even an okay day because okay is better than a bad day. It’s been a roller-coaster of a month, with the current situation and the statistical conundrum vortex that we seem to be locked in. Despite this, we need to keep going and living and helping each other like we should have been doing from day one, not just by washing our hands, we should be helping each other to help ourselves, be true, be honest and let bygones be bygones. The news and public announcements are not showing any hope and now the key event is shadowing other problematic events, which are more of a problem, in my opinion. Divides are being promoted profusely through media in every variety, but we are in the same boat and if we let that boat sink, we will all be swimming in the same sea. There are no divides, only those we permit. From my personal experience, there is always hope… Always! Find something to believe in, even if it’s yourself, divides are fickle and can be brushed aside easily.

The beginning of this month was national Poetry day with the theme being vision. I celebrated this day alongside Staffordshire Word, organised and presented by Jonathan Watkins and Mel Wardle Woodend. It was a magical evening with many other great poets including Daniel Kay, Andy Summers, Kizzy Wade, Leanne Cooper, Mark Perryman, and many more. Also, on the event was the release of the Poetic Vision Anthology, with all profits going to Staffordshire Guide Dogs, creating a further wave of positivity. The event showed me that like-minded people or even unlike-minded people can come together and create a wondrous evening of togetherness. This month has solidified my belief that we are forced and squeezed inside a box, but I know these boxes are only cardboard and can be torn apart simply. My new book titled, Poetry Through Fresh Eyes, which was released late last month has been read by some of the most unlikely of poetry readers, I think we should start showing the nation that there is more to the arts than we are led to believe and there’s a piece for absolutely everyone!

Extending on the last chapter, this month it has become more apparent that the arts sector is taking a bashing. Theatres are closing and funds are running dry. On a global level, we need to keep these traditions and escapisms alive, they spread messages of hope and joy, they even show us a glimpse into the future or open up the history of a forgotten past. Let us keep talent and creativity flowing through our society and give less of our hard-earned income to the Hollywood cretins, making humongous terrible films with terrible actors who are paid for their appearance rather than their acting skills. We, as one will prevail against this unfortunate issue, this is not the first time in history this has happened and probably will not be the last. Art over the years has thrown spanners into the works of politicians and illuminated of truths amongst their lies. The world of arts will always defeat the politics as love and passion conquer corruption and lies.

Unchained Wisdom has released some new T-shirts, £0.50 of the profit will go towards a Mental Health charity of our choosing, we are even open to suggestions. I am very picky where the donations will go as I would like to ensure that they are used to help actual people, as research suggests some reputable charities spend a large percentage of their funds on overheads and salaries (each to their own). A further £0.50 will be donated to Hope Radio 97.8, which is a volunteer-run radio station, born from the pandemic. This station provides comfort to the older listeners who don’t wish to be bombarded with mind-numbing advertisements. The T-shirts can be ordered through the unchained wisdom website, which you can find at the bottom of the article. The price tag for these is £17.50, free postage and packaging. They are helping a charity, a radio station and a family business who print the T’s, and we are all aware that small or mediums family-run businesses are taking the biggest blow in this pandemic. Let’s help as many people with one thing as possible and show these politicians how to actually come together and make a change, another example of how one project can cause a positive wave.

Thank you for taking the time to read good people, to that end we need to keep creating waves of positivity, joy and love, even if it’s just a ripple. Peace to all, even the breakers of peace, for good vibe's sake.

 Little Poem: In Need, Anytime

Efforts cause an effect, the ripple on the lake makes it to the other side.

Care and compassion, the stone that created the movement, the lakebed they reside.

Stones will stop being thrown; they are there for whoever would like.

You know where to find them, they never hide.
