Supporters from the Aldridge branch of the Royal British Legion took part in The Great Tommy Sleep Out, Royal British Veterans Enterprise (RBVE)’s flagship fundraising campaign, last night, the 27th of March 2026. Each March, participants give up one night, or more, of comfort to raise awareness and vital funds for veterans facing homelessness. Last night temperatures hit 2 degrees Celsius but it felt much colder with the wind chill factor and damp conditions.
Participants were from different age groups (including a young boy) and both men and women took part, braving the biting cold, to raise awareness for this worthy cause. They set up tents at The Green, next to the Aldridge War Memorial.
