The grand opening of The Watch, combined with a Community Safety Day, took place on Saturday 29th June.

The hub’s remit will develop to provide access to the advice, guidance and knowledge that is offered through partnership working with both public sector and voluntary sector providers borough wide. We already have established partnerships with the police, Walsall Safer Partnerships and West Midlands Fire Service. We intend to build upon this by establishing relationships with other bodies such as Victim Support and Crimestoppers.

A spokesperson for Neighbourhood Watch said “we believe that we can all take responsibility for safety within our community and through a targeted support hub we can encourage and nurture better connections across the borough for groups to come together and provide a stronger service for the communities we are here to support.”

The opening event was well attended by councillors, Wendy Morton MP, Neighbourhood Watch members and members of the community.

The Watch is based in Pelsall Village Centre, High St, Pelsall, Walsall WS3 4LX.

You can also keep up to date with its activities on Facebook and Twitter @TheWatchCSH.
