Mobile flu vaccination clinics will be running in Walsall this December, making it easier than ever for eligible residents to get protected.

  • Saturday 13 December, 10am to 3pm, Bloxwich Launchpad, Market Place, Walsall, WS3 2JF.
  • Thursday 18 December, 10am-3pm, St Pauls Square, Walsall, WS1 1DA.

Those eligible to receive their flu vaccine at the mobile clinics include:

  • All adults aged 65 years and over
  • People with certain long term health conditions (from 6 months to under 65s)
  • All children aged 2–3 years old on 31 August 2025
  • Pregnant women
  • Carers
  • People who live with someone with a weakened immune system
  • Frontline health and social care staff (including those working in care homes for older adults)

Those eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine can also receive it at the mobile clinics.

“ I would urge eligible residents to come forward for their flu vaccines, if they have not already, as soon as possible. Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself, your loved ones, the wider community, as well as our health and care services, particularly as we head into the busy festive period. Even if you’ve had the flu vaccine before, you will need another one to protect yourself this season. It is not too late to come forward, so please do take the opportunity to get vaccinated. “

Councillor Gary Flint, Portfolio Holder for Culture, Health and Wellbeing
Walsall Council

“ Flu isn’t just a seasonal bug – for many people it can lead to very serious, and sometimes dangerous, complications. That’s why it’s so important that everyone who is eligible gets their flu jab.

Getting vaccinated helps protect you, your family, and your wider community. We’re already seeing flu circulate earlier than usual this year, with large numbers of people seeking GP appointments and hospital care for an illness that vaccination can help prevent. “

Sally Roberts, Chief Nursing Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer
NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board (ICB)

Walsall residents can also contact their GP or local pharmacy to get their flu vaccination. For those who prefer a vaccine that does not contain any porcine or egg ingredients, alternative flu vaccines are available.

School-aged children (Reception to Year 11) are also encouraged to have their flu vaccine at school or at a catch-up clinic. Consent forms should be completed in advance. For more information, contact Vaccination UK on 01922 902 035.

For more information about flu, go to the NHS website.

  • Alongside flu and COVID-19, eligible residents can also get their Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccination at their local GP practice where they live. This vaccination is available for those aged 75 to 79 or pregnant women over 28 weeks.
  • Pneumococcal vaccines are also available for anyone aged 65 and over via GP practices.
  • Eligible residents may also be able to receive other vaccines, such as the Shingles vaccine through their GP (for adults aged 65 and over and those aged 18+ with a severely weakened immune system). To find out more, speak to your GP.
