The new neighbourhood, named Locksmiths Quarter, will be built across recently demolished sites at Temple Bar/Stafford Street, Cemetery Road, Villiers Street, New Hall Street and Moat Street.
Locksmiths Quarter will provide a range of home types and tenures, including homes for private sale, shared ownership and social rent, designed to meet the needs of local people and families at different stages of life.
“ It’s great to see the progress that’s already been made in Willenhall. Demolishing derelict and disused sites to make way for new homes is great for the local community. I’m pleased that planning permission has been granted for 109 new homes and look forward to seeing work start soon. “
Councillor Nicky Barker, Deputy Leader
Walsall Council
The new homes will be delivered by Keepmoat and are expected to be completed by Winter 2029.
As well as delivering new homes, the development will provide significant investment in local services and community infrastructure. More than £312,000 will be contributed towards education and healthcare provision, alongside over £808,000 for local open spaces. The scheme will help to provide a range of housing options for local people while ensuring essential services and community facilities are supported as the area grows.
“ We’re delighted that planning approval has been secured for this exciting scheme, set to deliver 109 new energy-efficient homes in Willenhall.
Shaun Fielding, Regional Managing Director
