The new Tesco superstore, located in the heart of Walsall, is due to open in early December 2010. The store is located on the old site of Walsall College’s St Paul’s Campus and covers nearly 11,000 square metres.
The Tesco opens as part of a land swap deal between Walsall College, Walsall Council and Tesco, which saw Walsall College relocate to the Wisemore campus last year. The store will feature a roof top parking area and will provide over 700 parking spaces for its shoppers.
The new store is a boost to regeneration efforts in the Walsall area. We sincerely hope that not only will this provide new employment opportunities in Walsall, but will bring much needed footfall for small, local businesses in the town.
