National Record Store Day in Walsall
28th March 2014

Record store day (19th April) is the biggest day on any record collectors calendar and this year looks to be the biggest yet. With releases from David Bowie, Oasis, Sex Pistols, Bruce Springsteen and Green Day to name a few, bands are really getting behind the cause. There is brand new material, never heard before as well as limited colour vinyl. All new releases for that day are exclusive to independent retailers and are very limited across the country. It is held once a year and this will be Walsall's very first record store day. LP's Paradise in Walsall are working hard at getting a band down to perform for their customers and will be giving away goodie bags with money off vouchers and other stuff with every purchase.

Record store day began as a group of people who wanted to bring music back to a local level and give their customers a chance to get hold of a one off release of their favourite artist. It has turned into a worldwide event which has seen hundreds of independent shops in the uk alone take part. It is a celebration of music the way artists want it to be heard and for collectors it is a great chance to grab a one off release and with some releases easily doubling in value after purchase it makes the event a little more special.
