Local author, Cheryl Ann Boot and her family showed to support last weekend to the incredible Sgt Dan Haughton of Staffordshire Police. He completed a challenge called ‘The Long Blue Walk’ on the 20th and 21st September 2025 called ‘Everesting’ where Dan and his team ascended the hill at Stafford Castle in full police uniform.

The height of Everest is 29,090ft and so the ascent up the hill was 290 times up a steep castle drive. Dan and his team was nothing short of extraordinary where he proudly took on the ascent with positivity and determination.

The funds will go to two charities: ‘The Childhood Cancer Parents Alliance’ that provides support to families whose children have a cancer diagnosis, both during and after treatment.

‘Andys Man Club’, a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free to attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online.

Currently, Dan has raised £4070 for these two charities, if you wish to donate further, the link is below and every pound will make a vital difference, in addition, follow Dan across social media on ‘The long Blue Walk’
