Local actor Alan Groucott (pictured) has been active on the local amateur theatre circuit for many years and has performed at The Crescent, Sutton Arts ,Highbury Theatre, The Blue Orange, and Oldbury Rep.
Most recently he has been in the classic Agatha Christie play Witness for the Prosecution at Sutton Arts and then Haunting Julia by Alan Ayckbourn also at Sutton Arts.
He is currently in rehearsals as director of the next main house production at Oldbury Rep, the award winning play, The Father which is in production from March 7-14. An intriguingly written and thought provoking insight into the challenges faced by an ageing but proud man unwilling to accept the onset of his own frailty and vulnerability. It takes us inside his mind and gives us (as the audience) a unique perspective on an everyday but devastating circumstance which blights the lives of so many. Shocking, disturbing and yet at times desperately comedic.
It promises to be a remarkable and unforgettable evening of theatre, disturbing and moving in equal turns. A story that will touch the hearts and minds of all those who see it.
Alan will be talking theatre, acting and film on The Ian Henery Show
