Letting agents must now jon one of three redress schemes that investigate consumer complaints ,such as hidden fees or poor service .
The redress schemes aim to protect tenants and leaseholders by giving them the chance to hold letting agents to account . If the tenant`s complaint is upheld folowing an independent investigation, they could be entitled to compensation.
Any letting agent faqiling to join one of teh three schemes could face a fine of up to £5000
