Lead Thrown Away Again

Once again Walsall were guilty of throwing aaway a lead- this time at home to Carlisle in the game at the Banks's v. Carlisle United. How many times has this happened of late? I've lost count. Walsall got off to a bright start and young Jamie Patterson, the one bright light in a so far dull season, shot just over as early as the second minute.

Also in the early exchanges Kevan Hurts tried his luck but he too was off target. By the quarter hour stage our visitors were getting back into the game and they two had a few chances. However Walsall took the lead on 33 minutes. Patterson was fouled and he took the free kick and found Will Grigg who headed home from five yards.

Walsall's long-suffering fans were hoping to see their team build on this however a couple of minutes after the break Jimmy Walker had to come to teh rescue with a smart save. A few minutes later Carlisle got back on level terms with a great goal from Matty Robson who hit a perfect free kick from some distance.

Try as hard as they could Walsall could not get the winner and now find themselves without a win in six games.
