The clean-up, completed on 24 February 2026, saw 29 tonnes of waste removed from Sharesacre Street and Springvale Street.
Ahead of the clean-up, significant preparation work was required, which was well-received and supported by residents and businesses in the immediate area.
Much of the waste was inaccessible due to vehicles blocking entry points. These were moved as a result of engagement by Community Protection Officers.
Approximately 20 local businesses were also contacted, ensuring the clearance could be carried out safely and effectively.
The total cost of clearing the area exceeded £11,000, highlighting the significant financial impact that illegal dumping has on public services. CCTV is in place to monitor the area moving forward.
“ Locations of this nature require a coordinated and preventative response.
Councillor Suky Samra, Portfolio Holder for Street Scene
“Due to the cost of cleanups such as this, it is vital we take appropriate actions to prevent it from reoccurring.
“I welcome the additional CCTV in the area and urge those living locally to keep the area clean. “
“ Tackling the scourge of fly-tipping in Willenhall is a priority of the council.
Councillor Adam Hicken, Portfolio Holder for Enforcement and Safe Communities
“Significant preparation work was required before tackling this site, and I thank our staff for their persistence with that.
"The engagement from local businesses and residents was excellent and helped resolve this issue in a collaborative fashion.
“We have CCTV in place, and anyone caught undoing the work carried out here will feel the full force of our enforcement.
“I would encourage those living and working in the area to take pride in the area, it is in a good place now, let’s keep it that way. “
Walsall Council continues to work with local businesses and partners in the area to help prevent further incidents and support longer-term improvements.
