Ever wondered the real cost of a new kitchen?
Kitchen Specialists, R & R Services Ltd outline the real cost of a new kitchen.
The typical order value range of a new kitchen could be anything between £4,000 and £20,000 and this blog will outline the areas of highest cost to see where this value comes from.
The first area of high cost is in the clearance of the site, preparation and the building work itself. In terms of removing your old kitchen, R & R can do this very quickly and they can also list the kitchen on eBay on your behalf. The price they can receive for your old kitchen depends on many factors but they have been known to be sold anywhere from £1 to £750. Doing this saves the cost of getting a skip (bettween £100 to £160).
A large part of what R & R offer is in-house building services and ability. As more time is spent in the kitchen than ever, many people want walls removed to give them a larger kitchen. A guide for removal of a supporting wall is between £1500 to £2000 plus building notice which can often be required. R & R will also quote for an extension and can offer assistance with the design from their architects.
Another area of cost if electrics, lighting and wiring. R & R usually charge approximately £50 per down light and £60 for each power point required for your design. Normally a new board is around £450 with earth work around £200 if required.
Plastering is often needed when tiles are removed. A professional plastering service can cost anything between £250 and £500 dependent on what is required. Plastering may also be required if you have down lighters and also with the first fixing of new cables and wires.
Costs for Kitchen Units vary alot and you must remember that cheap cabinets don't last as long as R&R's recommended close drawer box system, Blumotion. Kitchen Units cost are typically between £2500 to £5000 or more dependent on the number of cabinets.
The overall cost will be effected by door and worktop surface choices. The cost can vary from £130 for laminate or for granite or quartz it can be as much as £3000. The price of doors also vary from expensive high gloss acrylic doors to the cheaper vinyl doors.
Another area of varied cost in your business is kitchen appliances. R & R recommend that you avoid the cheapest, and the typical cost for a basic set of appliances can be from £1000 to £3000.
In terms of flooring, typical fitting is around £40 per metre which includes removal of old flooring, labour, adhesive and grout to fit new tiles. Kitchen tiles can vary in cost from £10 upwards, with ceramic tiles being the cheapest. Materials such as slate, porcelain or travertine will need flexible adhesive which is around £5 per metre on top.
For R&R their typical order value is varied between £5000 and £15000 for a new kitchen. All prices are dependent on what product and application is required.
Although price is important, the cheapest is the best, so why not use a local company that you can trust to deliver your dream kitchen.
