The team spent a CSR day in October revitalising key areas of the park, which included refurbishing park signage, giving the park a clean and fresh appearance.
Volunteers also tackled overgrown vegetation along the main pathways, cutting back overhanging branches and clearing foliage to make the routes safer and more accessible for visitors.
“ Reedswood Park is well-used by locals, so it is wonderful to see the difference that partnership working continues to make here.

The improvements carried out by HomeServe volunteers have enhanced both the look and feel of the park, helping to ensure it remains a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy. “
Walsall Council
Greg Shelton, Head of Employee Experience at HomeServe, said, “From the very start, we’ve loved playing a key role in this partnership. When we first approached Walsall Council with an idea over 18 months ago, we couldn’t have imagined how far we’d come, and we’re hugely grateful to the Council for being so receptive to our ideas and initiatives.
“It’s incredible to see the impact collaboration can have on our community, and we’re not stopping here. HomeServe is in ongoing conversations to explore new ways our people can make a positive difference.”
This latest activity follows a series of successful community improvement projects delivered through the programme, which has seen volunteers from local organisations support park maintenance and environmental works across the borough, including habitat management, litter clearance, and path restoration.
In August, volunteers from Taylor Woodrow and West Midlands Combined Authority spent four hours carrying out a variety of tasks to improve the appearance and accessibility of Reedswood Park.
The improvements form part of ongoing efforts to enhance Walsall’s parks and green spaces, supporting biodiversity and creating more welcoming environments for the community.
