Well Christmas has come and gone and New year is just  upon us .

Slow Loaf January bread special is made from Fresh Chilli, Garlic and Ginger in a light Rye. We will also be rolling some loaves in cumin seeds as well.

I have ordered a pastry roller which should arrive at the end of January we will then be able to offer fruit pies, jam tarts, lemon meringues, citron tarts and a multitude of other pastry delights. Following on from the success of our mince pies we could not keep up with the demand

The baking classes which are run on a Sunday  have gone well as Gift vouchers for Christmas presents - look at my site  for classes and dates www.slowloaf.co.uk.

I have been experimenting with the Tom Kerridge spiced orange cake recipe and have added additional spices and toasted nuts to the mix, and baked them as a large muffin. I have then added a chocolate Grenache topping. Have a look at my Twitter page - the topping needs work as it is a little heavy oooooohhhhhhh but the taste.

We have  many plans for the New Year - 1 of which is Foccacia Thursday. We will be selling Foccacia sandwiches with a Mozzarella pepper and Basil or rocket stuffing. A Ham and Cheese foccacia, A Cheeses and Onion Foccacia and a Chorizo Onion Tomato and Mozzarella Foccacia. We aim to have these ready from 12.15 till 2.30 - It will be best to pre-order if you want to take it away HOT.

There will be many more exciting twists this coming year HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all
