Now in our 10th week since starting with Darlaston Community Hub, to whom we have catered over 300 family meals every Tuesday, we have now grown to a 7-day collection service from Guru Nanak Gurdwara Willenhall as well as a 3 day (Mon, Wed and Fri) delivery service.

We are currently serving for collection over 100 meals each day.  The service has attracted local small businesses, such as Stubby Lane Fish and Chips shop, that catered 100 portions of Cheese and Onion Pasty with Chips, Gravy and a Drink to the local community on Sunday 24th May 2020.   In total we have served well over 6000 meals now by collection and delivery over the course of 10 weeks.  The local community has helped raise over £2,500 as well as donating food supplies and man-power to the effort.  Local entrepreneur Taran Singh of Taran 3D supplied x10 3D printed visors to help with our PPE requirements.      Eddie Hughes joined us on Friday 22nd May 2020 for our collection service.  In fact it was when Eddie originally joined us on delivery service, he wrongly posted on an email newsletter, that Guru Nanak Gurdwara Willenhall would be serving 7 days a week.  I had actually said to him just twice a week, however we all took this as inspiration and started serving every day.    As lockdown rules have relaxed a little, we have started to get our children involved in the service.  Tuesday 26th May 2020 we served Cold Drinks as well as food to the local community.    We will be continuing our service for the foreseeable future, delivering food to the vulnerable, no questions asked, as well as letting anybody collect a meal 7 days a week.
