Walsall produced a fine comeback against Preston North End on Saturday playing some great football and left the field to a fine reception from the home fans who had witnessed their team recording a 3-1 win. There was a shock in the team line up with newly signed on loan goalkeeper Karl Darlow replacing David Grof. His first real work was to pick the ball out of the back of the net, There was poor marking in the defence but as Joel Byrom shot the new goalie fumbled and allowed it to slip into the back of the net. Walsall responded with both Flo Cuvelier and Andy Taylor having chances befor James Baxendale produced a moment of brilliance to draw Walsall level.

Walsall grew in confidence in the second half and really looked the part. George Bowerman won himself a penalty and duly converted. The same player then went on to score a good goal from open play to send the home fans wild. the 20 year old really looks the part and now finds himself top scorer with five goals in eight games. Preston were a little disappointing, it has to be said but this was all about Walsall and their fine performance. So the Saddlers now find themselves in 8th spot in the table and the feel good factor continues. A trip to Bornemouth on Saturday should give a chance for The Saddlers to hopefully obtain three more points.
