Madeleine Holland and Balbir Seimar BEM are passionate supporters of Acorns and often make financial and food hamper contributions to Acorn Children's Hospice, Walstead Road, Walsall.

Dan Griffiths, Tesco Store Manager, Hall Green, has been very generous and donated the food hampers.  Madeleine sponsored Dan for the Gold Star award for showing initiative and making donations.  The Award was presented by Balbir Seimar BEM.     Toby Mobberley, Acorns Volunteer Manager said, "It's always a pleasure to meet with our wonderful community supporters such as Madeleine and Balbir and of course meeting Dan from Tesco to solidify our relationship.

A huge well done to Dan for his much deserved Golden Star Award.  With grateful thanks for the wonderful food hamper he donated to Acorns."   Balbir said, "she has great admiration and is supportive of the amazing commitment that Hospices do for the families, sadly, when it is much needed."

The second hamper was donated to St Mary's Hospice, Birmingham where Beth had supported an amazing, young man Ravinder Chohan, lovingly known as Bindu.  Daffodils were shared and put all around the hospice to bring a ray of sunshine.

Bindu's elder brother, Vicky and mother, Manjit.  Beth shared fond memories of her brief meetings with Bindu.  His huge smile and positive energy will always be remembered.    Balbir, being local to  Acorn's Children's Hospice, Walsall, enjoys supporting through work with spring cleaning, painting, gardening alongside her volunteering with supplying food at least twice a week for their incredible staff.

Balbir said, "it is refreshing to see young people getting involved in supporting their local initiatives. Dan is a worthy recipient of the Gold Star award.  May he continue to support the community and going forward I look forward to working with him"
