Eating out on Sundays

Sunday’s!! Sunday is a day of rest and that suits most of us. Get up around 11am (or later) and generally do nothing for the day…great. I love Sunday’s and if there is one thing that stands out for me it is the Sunday Roast!

We call the French frogs and they call us Roast beefs…I wonder who drew the short straw?

There is nothing like the smell of a succulent roast joint from the oven, mouth watering and tender. A nice big Yorkshire pudding fresh from the oven; crispy roast potatoes and fresh vegetables cooked the way you like…oh and not to mention the rich dark gravy!

My chefs are dedicated to preparing the best Sunday Roasts in the area, people return every week to taste the wonder that has become one of our pubs biggest shout abouts!

We make sure the word “compromise” doesn’t enter our kitchen on a Sunday (or any day of the week in fact)

Our Meats are delivered fresh from our local butcher and slow roasted for up to 6 hours for a tender moist cut. Our Yorkshire puddings are made fresh using a traditional recipe, our roast potatoes are roasted on the day and taste tested by me! Our mash is homemade with butter and cream. Our choice of vegetables are prepared and cooked on the day.

What really distinguishes our Sunday Roasts is our gravy…we use the meat juices, stock from the bones and vegetables and seasoning to give a REAL GRAVY that gives your meal that mouth watering edge.

Best of all you don’t have to queue for it like you do in a carvery; it is bought to your table along with your sauces and extra gravy if you like. We let you choose up to 3 meats from our usual selection of Beef, Pork, Turkey, Gammon and Lamb and you always get a good portion!

Our delicious Sunday Roasts are from £6.99 and we cater for children and smaller appetites by offering a small roast for £3.95. We do get very busy between 1pm and 3pm so it is advised to book however we serve food from 12pm till 7pm and if you don’t fancy a roast we have our full menu available.

So what are you waiting for? Get on the phone and book your table and if you mention “The Best Of” I will buy you a pudding!!

See you soon
