The British legislation the Sunbeds Regulation Act 2010 and the new European Safety Standard specifies that:

  • Appliances having UV emitters (tubes or lamps) shall not emit radiation having a total effective irradiance exceeding 0.3 Watts per square metre (0.3W/m²) weighted according to the erythema action spectrum.

Therefore UV output of 0.3W/m² and below equals a safe product.

Tanning process using the 0.3 UV lamps is kinder to your skin.

The tan is then deeper and longer lasting.

0.3 tanning session gives the same effect as the Mediterranean summer sun at mid-day but without the risk of burning.

The risk of over-exposure, redness or buning is effectively eliminated.

Due to UV light the vitamin D is produced. It has a good impact on teeth and bones (counteracts formation of the osteoporosis). Improves the mood and acts as an antidepressant due to the endorphins produced whilst tanning. Tanning also improves the immunity system and stabilises the blood sugar levels. It soothes inflamed skin and helps in the treatment of psoriasis.

Recommended tanning time is between 8-30min depending on the frequency of tanning and the skin type.

It is extremely important to use the cosmetics designed for indoor tanning during every tanning session. These cosmetics take care of the skin properly, leaving the skin healthy and moisturised. As well as taking care of the quality and durability of the tan.
