Walsall Healthcare’s Well Wishers charity is working alongside the wards and teams based in the hospital and across its community sites – including Goscote Hospice, Fair Oaks Day Hospice, Palliative Care Centre and Hollybank House – to create Amazon wish lists.

The wish lists include items that will enhance patients’ experience whilst in the Trust’s care.

From toys for young patients, to jigsaw puzzles, games, wordsearches and radios, ward staff have advised the charity what would best benefit their patients after seeing what has worked well previously and what would improve their stay while receiving treatment and care.

Kimberley Aplin, Fundraising Support Officer said: “The charity raises money for things over and above what the NHS is able to provide so we can provide the best experience possible for patients and families. That’s why we are asking the generous Walsall community for help with our latest appeal.

“Hospital is the last place people want to be in. We know patients can feel bored, anxious and lonely especially if they have no family or friends to visit them. So, we want to do all we can to provide good distractions for them and keep them entertained.

“Thank you to anyone who can offer support.”

We currently have wish lists for:

Purchased items will automatically be delivered to The Fundraising Hub at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.
