West Midlands vending firm Coinadrink Limited has already participated in a variety of charitable schemes this year as communities up and down the country look to pull together amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. So we were only too happy to get on board with the “Christmas Wish List” programme for sick children, devised by the Well Wishers charity located in our Walsall Manor Hospital.

Well Wishers are a Walsall-based charity, registered to make a real difference to those under the care of the Walsall Manor Hospital. Through donations, they are able to provide equipment and resources to support the treatment and care provided to patients and their loved ones. The charity’s mission is to have a positive impact on those using the services and to help those who need it most.

WHAT IS THE CHRISTMAS WISH LIST PROGRAMME?

Usually during this time of the year, children under the care of the Walsall Manor Hospital enjoy festive fun and a traditional Santa visit. Unfortunately, this year, the COVID pandemic put a stop to it all. This was when Well Wishers decided to intervene with their Christmas Wish List campaign and ensure no sick child will be without a smile this Christmas.

Reaching out to local businesses in the area, Well Wishers asked for the donation of presents and gifts for children of all ages.

Coinadrink set aside a £500 budget to help support Well Wishers and, with the generous 20% discount from The Entertainer, we were able to donate a variety of brand-new items. These included rainmakers, Rubik’s cubes, teddies, dolls, monster trucks, light up puzzles and more. We wanted to make sure that even though the children didn’t get a visit from Santa this year, they could still count on ours (and many others!) care and support in order to have a cheerful, fun-filled time.

We even made local news through the Express and Star!

A THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO MADE IT ALL POSSIBLE…

We firstly want to say a very big thank you to the Best of Walsall, who provide advice and support to local businesses and share information and news. We have been members of the Best of Walsall for a very long time and were made aware of the Christmas Wish List campaign through our partnership.

We also want to show our appreciation to The Entertainer toy store, who were kind enough to provide us with the generous discount. This allowed us to order more toys and gifts. Despite the large order, the firm handled our order without fault and delivery was made in a prompt manner.

OUR OTHER CHARITY WORK…

We are extremely pleased to know that our donations have gone towards providing a joyful Christmas to children who are under the care of our local hospital this festive season. And as we mentioned at the start of this blog post, it’s not the first time we have showed our charitable side.

The current pandemic has made life difficult for us all, but especially our wonderful NHS who have sacrificed their own health and wellbeing for others.

You may have remembered that we have supported the Manor Hospital twice this year through the help of the Well Wishers charity, when we donated coffee machines and supplies to the hard-working ICU and high dependency units during the pandemic.

And when we heard of the “Christmas Wish List” programme developed to bring a festive smile to patients on the children’s ward, we were happy to help again…
