Christmas Day Buffet at Jimmy Trims Barber Shop

Christmas Day is a time of celebration and spending time with family but for some people it is the loneliest time of the year.

This has inspired Jimmy Trims Barber Shop owner Lynsey Rush to open her doors on Christmas Day to spread some Christmas food and cheer.

She thought of the idea when two of her customers admitted they would be spending Christmas alone this year, with one even saying he hadn't spoke to anyone on Christmas Day for 20 years.

Lynsey said "I couldn't bear to think of them on their own, so I decided to open up the shop and hold Christmas here. The customers can't believe it - one or two have been quite tearful about it."

12 people so far have said they will be attending festive gathering.

Since hearing about Lynsey's plans, several Willenhall traders have also offered help with providing food and Prosecco for the day.

Lynsey added "It's lovely how it's brought everyone together. The other traders have been brilliant."

Lynsey's mother has also been an inspiration to her wonderful Christmas Day Buffet. Having lost her in June, Lynsey said "My mum would have approved. She was always taking people in, sometimes for two or three weeks at a time. This is in her honour.

Food will not be able to be cooked at the shop due to Health & Safety reasons but Lynsey has promised a buffet table with host of delicious treats such as pork pies, sausage rolls, mince pies and other Yuletide fare.

Joseph, Lynsey's six-year old son will also be helping out his mum by entertaining the guests.

"When I told him what was happening, he was delighted. He wants to come along and do magic tricks for everyone" beamed Lynsey.

For anyone who wants to take part in the day, between 12-2pm, can contact Lynsey on at the shop on 01902 609541 so she knows how many people to expect.
