The refurbishment is thanks to funding from NHS Charities Together and Walsall Healthcare’s Well Wishers charity.
The multi-faith space has been thoughtfully transformed to create a more peaceful, accessible, and inclusive environment for reflection, prayer, services and quiet time.
There is new flooring, decoration, improved lighting, new seats, additional storage and a new leaflet display unit.
Garry Perry, Associate Director for Patient Voice at Walsall Healthcare, said: “Having a welcoming, peaceful space like this within the hospital makes such a difference to patients’ experience.
“Whether someone needs quiet reflection, spiritual support, or simply a place to breathe, the chapel offers comfort at exactly the right time.
“We’re incredibly grateful to NHS Charities Together and Well Wishers for helping us create an environment that truly supports the wellbeing of our patients, families, and staff.”
The refurbishment was made possible through a £50,000 grant from NHS Charities Together, alongside £10,000 from Well Wishers.
Linford Davis, Head of Spiritual, Pastoral and Religious Care (Chaplaincy), added: “The refurbishment has made the space warmer, more inclusive, and adaptable for people of all faiths.
“The patients, families and staff who have visited already have shared how much of a difference it has made, and that’s what we wanted for this space.”
