The government has invested £35 million to the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership as a historic Growth Deal. The remodelled junction 10 is just one of the new projects planned using the investment for the Walsall borough.

This overhaul will involve new bridges that are widened in order to create a larger capacity, intelligent traffic signals, improvements to the motorway slip roads; widening and modernisation of the nearby Bloxwich Lane junction and modification to a small section of the Black Country Route.

This investment is going to help make the junction operate more effeciently and reduce vehicle delay and is predicted to safeguard existing jobs as well as create new ones.

The improvements are expected to start during 2017.
