The Community Safety Plan 2026–2029, developed by the Safer Walsall Partnership, sets out how organisations across the borough will work together to reduce crime, tackle anti-social behaviour and strengthen community safety over the coming years. 

The plan will guide how resources are allocated and how partners work together to respond to emerging issues affecting residents. 

The Safer Walsall Partnership is a multi-agency collaboration that includes Walsall Council, West Midlands Police, West Midlands Fire Service, NHS partners, the National Probation Service and whg. Together, the partnership is responsible for setting and delivering community safety priorities for the borough. 

The plan has been informed by the partnership’s annual strategic assessment, which analyses police and partnership data alongside feedback from residents and stakeholders. Community consultation also played an important role in shaping the strategy, with local priorities aligned to the We Are Walsall 2040 vision, which identified feeling and being safe as the number one priority for residents. 

The strategy sets out several key strategic priorities for the next three years, including: 

• Violence and harm reduction 
• Anti-social behaviour, tackling hate crime and strengthening cohesive communities 
• Domestic abuse and violence against women and girls 
• Road and vehicle harm 

“ Residents have been clear that feeling and being safe is their top priority, and this Community Safety Plan sets out how we will work together with partners to deliver on that ambition.

“The plan focuses on the issues that matter most to our communities, including reducing anti-social behaviour, tackling serious violence and hate crime, and making it clear that domestic abuse and violence against women and girls will not be tolerated in Walsall. “

The Community Safety Plan 2026–2029 was approved by the Safer Walsall Partnership Board in February 2026 and will now be presented to Cabinet for adoption by the council.
