PIPIF is a Government capital investment programme launched in September 2025, providing up to £1.5 million per selected local authority between 2025 and 2027. The purpose of the funding is to rebuild community pride, enhance local environments, and support visible improvements in neighbourhoods

“ We are delighted to have been awarded this additional funding. The money will be split between a number of wards across the borough to provide tangible improvements for local people.

The funding will cover improvements to parks and green spaces, grants for community organisations to improve their facilities and services and other place-based contributions towards projects aimed at increasing local pride, wellbeing, economic growth and community cohesion.

I look forward to seeing the plans for this funding firmed up ready to deliver real improvements for local communities over the next two years. “

Councillor Adrian Andrew, Deputy Leader
Walsall Council

While plans on exactly where the funding will be allocated are still being developed, projects will be delivered across three themes; high street & town centre revitalisation, public spaces and community spaces.

The council has been consulting with voluntary and community sector organisations to help inform where the funding may be spent, and to identify organisations that may benefit from community grants and has been consulting with the borough’s MPs.

The initial list of projects that will receive funding through the PIPIF programme is expected in the coming months.
