Contactless refreshment solutions for the workplace have really taken the industry by storm during the current pandemic. Whilst vending and water dispensers remain a safe way to stay refreshed on site, more and more of us are still demanding added reassurance.

Borg and Overstrom have helped drive the change. Already offering a hands-free foot switch that can be used in conjunction with their B3 and B4 water coolers respectively, they have now introduced a smartphone application that allows you to control your dispenser using just your mobile phone.

How does the mobile app work?

The whole process is extremely straightforward. The app is available both on the Google Play Store and the App Store and connects your phone to your cooler using Bluetooth connectivity. You are also able to connect to multiple coolers for businesses that have more than one.

Once connected, here is how it works.

-       Open up the app.

-       Select your water cooler.

-       Place your cup or bottle into the dispense area.

-       Choose between the available configurations your cooler offers (chilled, ambient, hot, or sparkling water). Press and hold to dispense.

-       Enjoy beautifully filtered water with added peace of mind.

It is available on the Borg B3 and B4 mark two models. These are the more recent models and can be identified by touch sensitive buttons as opposed to push buttons. The technology is positioned as an optional upgrade on these models for both new and existing equipment.

Multiple people are able to connect to any one water cooler, making it a great solution if you have a high volume of staff. It also works in collaboration with the hands-free foot switch and provides another contactless option for you and your team.

The benefits of using the mobile app.

Over 55 million people use a smartphone in the UK. 91% of people aged between 16 and 54 have one! We are very much a mobile orientated world, both for personal and business use.

This makes a smartphone a great solution to provide contactless refreshment options as it is completely personal to you. This reduces the amount of shared touch points.

A smartphone also acts as a safety measure, particularly when using it alongside your water dispenser. For example, if your cooler delivers hot water then the mobile app requires the user to input two touches: one to “release” the hot water and another to deliver it. This prevents accidental inputs and the risk of scalding yourself.

As mentioned, the mobile app is available with second generation Borg B3 and B4 models. Coming 1st September, get in touch with us today for pricing information and add yet another level of reassurance when using your water cooler.
