In its first year, Bloxwich Launchpad has supported over 1000 residents, delivered more than 9,300 hours of personalised support and engaged with 230 businesses and enterprises. The centre now has 465 registered members.

Suzanne, a local resident who came to Bloxwich Launchpad for support to update her IT skills, which she said were 30 years out of date, said “Bloxwich Launchpad gave me the push I needed to improve my skills after being behind for so many years.” Suzanne was one of the first visitors after Bloxwich Launchpad opened its doors. She has taken part in digital skills courses, has gained a digital skills qualification, and continues to attend Microsoft Excel sessions to build her confidence.

Suzanne shared her story at the celebration event

“ Bloxwich Launchpad is a brilliant example of what regeneration can achieve when we invest in people as well as places.

This first year has shown what is possible, but it is only the beginning. We want to see even more local people gaining skills and confidence, more businesses starting and growing, and more opportunities being created in Bloxwich “

Councillor Nicky Barker, Deputy Leader
Walsall Council

The success of Bloxwich Launchpad in its first year has already received wider recognition, with the centre winning the RICS Community Benefit Award. The centre’s successful first year demonstrates how investment in skills, confidence and opportunity can deliver wider social and economic benefits for Bloxwich and the Borough of Walsall.

“ It has been fantastic to look back on everything we have achieved during our first year.

I’d like to thank our members, partners and the whole Launchpad team for making the first year such a success. We are proud of what we have achieved together, but there is so much more to come, and we look forward to continuing to support the people and businesses of Bloxwich in the years ahead. “
