Mum Harmanjeet Kaur gave birth to her 7 pounds 1 ounce daughter at 6.06am this morning at Walsall Manor Hospital.
She said Rehmat was due on 31 December, so the new arrival seemed determined to pick a significant day to make her entrance to the world.
Harmanjeet, whose husband Jaswant Singh is a foreman, said the couple’s daughters aged ten and seven were really excited to meet their little sister.
“They can’t wait to come and see her, and this has added to the excitement they’re already feeling as it’s Christmas and they’re on school holidays,” she said.
“I’ve got two little helpers for when we go home which will hopefully be tomorrow.”
Rehmat was the second baby born at Walsall Manor Hospital today. The first baby boy and first baby girl received a gift from Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust’s Well Wishers charity.
