Walsall notched up league defeat number 10 out of the 15 played so far in the 1-3 home defeat v. Peterborough United at the Banks's Stadium on Tuesday evening as this sorry season rumbles on yet played some of their better football. going forward at least. The team and the supporters were boosed before the game with the news that the club had taken striker Liam Dickinson on a month's loan  from Barnsley and it was the homecoming for goalkeeping legend Jimmy Walker back at  Walsall again after 7 long years away.

The mood may well have been upbeat before the game but that all changed when the Posh took a two goal lead early in the game due to the inevitable and  customary defensive breaks which have blighted the progress all season. In  the 14th minute Ryan Bennett put the visitors a goal up with an unchallenged header and  barely two minutes later the visitors had doubled their lead when Aaron Davies fired home.

Walsall did, however, create a few chances for themselves and it has to be said, played some good football at times. They were rewarded eight minutes into the second half when Martin Devaney sent a cross over for Julian Gray to head home. However in typical Walsall style they found themselves further behind again in less than a minute!Kevin Langmead fired home from close distance to ruin any hopes of a comeback
