Aldridge & District Lions Club have donated 100 puzzle books to the Manor Hospital for distribution to patients in non COVID–19 wards who are deprived of visitors because of current restrictions.

Fundraising Officer Lion Diane Price said “When we learnt of this need it was really an easy decision for the Club members to agree to and the impact this would make on so many people makes it worthwhile”.

The Hospital Trust Fundraising Manager Georgie Westley was over the moon when receiving the books saying “We are so grateful that Aldridge Lions have thought to make this donation and I know it will be very much appreciated by the patients.”

Left to Right Lions Chris Barker, Mike Barker and Lion President Harry Fry

Lion President Harry Fry said “This is a great opportunity to show what Lions are about. Lions to follow their money and we know in this instance exactly where it is doing good”. He did say that “The only disappointment about today is that our Fundraising Chair Lion Diane Price could not be here as she is being shielded following Chemo and Radio Therapy”.

Lions members are ordinary people actively working at the heart of their communities.
