National Poetry Day is a UK-wide celebration of poetry taking place on 5th October. The theme this year is "Refuge". The day is intended to help people discover and enjoy poetry and encourage everyone to read, write and share poems.

Until 28th October The Crossing at St Paul`s in Darwall Street Walsall is hosting an exhibition by Walsall Society of Artists. The exhibition, entitled Creative Walsall, was launched on 21st September with the Deputy Mayor of Walsall and local poets.
An 80 year old Walsall lady has been awarded the Great Neighbour Award at BBC Radio WM`s Make A Difference Awards 2023 for making her community a better place to live.
