We were going for an advertised walk that started by the art gallery so went in for a look before walking. Loads to see and lots of information on display.
We only managed the first 2 floors but will go back to look at the other 2

Brilliant collection of Jacob Epstein pieces in a modern well designed gallery that is staffed by knowledgeable and helpful people. An unexpected gem in Walsall.

It's ok really, not the biggest place but worth popping in if you're bored and are in town. I think the staff also weren't very welcoming at all which was not good

We came for the collection donation by Katherine Garman of Jacob Epstein's work and art that they had collected. Will definitely come back, as there is more to see. Very large airy and well laid out spaces. A great local resource

I recently visited the "new" art gallery in Walsall, and I must say, calling it new feels quite misleading since it actually opened in 2000. Despite being around for over two decades, the gallery doesn't seem to have evolved much to appeal to local residents like myself.

While the building itself is architecturally interesting and houses some notable works, it doesn't offer much that resonates with the local community. The exhibitions often feel disconnected from the local culture and history, and there's a noticeable absence of art that reflects Walsall's unique identity.

The gallery seems more focused on attracting visitors from outside the area rather than engaging with the people who live here. I had hoped for a more inclusive space that celebrates local talent and stories, but instead, it feels somewhat out of touch with the community it serves.

Overall, while the gallery has potential, it falls short in creating a meaningful and engaging experience for locals. I hope to see more efforts in the future to incorporate local artists and themes that truly reflect the spirit of Walsall.

Fantastic creative space showing a variety of contemporary artwork in various media formats.

Accessible art space for all types plus a whole exhibit looking at people from different backgrounds, neuro-abilities and minoritised communities.

Great to see the gallery going strong!

Great place to spend an hour wondering around, took my 3 year old daughter and she loved it. Great views of Walsall through the lift and windows and plenty to see and do inside. More activities for kids would have been great but it’s an art gallery so I can’t complain about that not being their focus. Free entry which is great

A beautiful modern building which always has several thought-provoking & well-presented temporary exhibitions, and re-interprets its permanent collection every year. Political, hard hitting, stunning.

It's not the largest museum, but the staff were very welcoming and hospitable. I liked the community art gallery about deprivation and poverty. I enjoyed seeing art from the local community, it shows a different perspective from commercial high end art which I found more entertaining, thought provoking and enjoyable to to understand and interpret.

It’s a nice little art gallery, probably one of the better parts of Walsall. There is nothing hugely spectacular, but there are some nice pieces of art which anyone could appreciate.

There is also a costa attached, which is a nice feature.
