If you are struggling for somewhere to take the kids this week, there’s something for everyone in The New Forest.

Here is a snap shot of some of things taking place over the coming days:


The New Forest and Hampshire County Show

Where: The Showground, New Park
When: 28th, 29th & 30th July 2015

The New Forest and Hampshire County Show is open daily from 8.30am - 6.30pm and attracts 95,000 over the 3 day duration. Go along and enjoy a great day out. Activities include:

  • Show Jumping
  • Equestrian Classes
  • Livestock competitions
  • Family Fun
  • Shopping
  • Flower Show
  • Discovery Zone
  • Eating and Drinking
  • Cookery Demonstration Theatre
  • And much more! 


Kids Summer Activities

Where: New Forest Activities
When: Dates: 23 July - 27 August 2015, 9.30am to 12 noon

Whether your child is an archer, mariner, soldier or explorer, there’s plenty of activities to take part in at New Forest Activities. Cost: £20 per child. 


Family Discovery Days

Where: The New Forest Centre
When: 30th July 2015, 10.00am to 4.00pm 

Family Discovery Days at New Forest Centre offer themed trails, quizzes and craft activities for all the family. Linked to Commonwealth Games.  No booking required. 


Seashore Discovery Trail

Where: Lepe Country Park
When: Thursday 30th July, 10:00am until 4:00pm

Join the Rangers for an amble along the beach to discovery the mystery sea creature and have a go at creating your own on the Seashore Discovery Trail. Only £3.50 per child. 


The Burley Show 2015

Where: Burley Park
When: Saturday 1st August from 1pm

Burley Park offers fun for the whole family including childrens attractions, plants, local produce, crafts, art, New Forest ice cream & refreshments.  Cost: £1 Under 12s free. 


Family Bush Craft Days

Where: Beaulieu Estate
When: Saturday 1st August, 10:00am until 5:00pm

Grab the chance to join an experienced instructor at the fantastic woods on Beaulieu estate for your ‘Family Survivor Course.’   This is a full day course and great fun for families and kids over 12 years old. 


Summer Spectacular

Where: Woodside Park
When: Sunday 2nd August, 7:30am until 5:00pm

Spend the day enjoying the amazing Deeds of Arms Living History Display, Bands featured are Zac and the Zeros, Lymington Town Band, Encore Choir, characters from Disney, Punch and Judy as well as plenty of food and drink at the Summer Spectacular.


Rock up and Explore at Bolderwood

Where: Bolderwood
When: Every Sunday in August, 2pm to 4pm

Go along and enjoy an introduction to the New Forest with a Forestry Commission Ranger. This FREE event is for all the family. No need to book, just turn up! 


Wild Wednesdays

Where: New Forest Reptile Centre
When: 29 July and 05 August 2015, Time: 10.00am to 3.30pm

Go along and discover more about British reptiles and amphibians and how they are being conserved in the New Forest.  They have specially created display enclosures to allow you to study these animals in close-up. 
 

Dragons and Damsels

Where: Lepe Country Park
When: Thursday 6th August, 10:00am until 4:00pm

Go and find out what hungry predators there are living at Lepe. You will be looking at what you can catch in the Lepe pond, making dragonflies and damselflies and learning lots about these ferocious predators!  Only £3.50 per child.
