THE VASE
A fine china vase,
Formed from the clay of memories,
Stands in the centre of life’s table.
Mirrored in the polished oak,
Grown from a base of birth,
Sculpted, like a well told fable
By love, success and loss;
Each curve weaving its’ tale.
Vibrant colours from the artists hand
Depicting tears and laughter,
Are enhanced by the potters glaze.
Within the circular rim stalks stand
Bearing clusters of perfect petals,
An array of every subtle hue
In fragrant homage to love and life,
The lover’s rose, carnations, lilies,
Wordsworth’s daffodils and tulips – from BLUE!
