'Enginuity' is a popular interactive Design and Technology Centre providing a range of stimulating activities for children of all ages. Part of the Ironbridge Gorge Museums attractions, Enginuity is situated in the spectacular World Heritage Site of Ironbridge just minutes from Telford and the M54 motorway.

Switch on your imagination at the Enginuity interactive design and technology centre, and have fun discovering how everyday things work. Located in the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, Shropshire, it captures the imagination of all ages using huge hands-on exhibits to bring the workings of everyday things to life.

Use your imagination in the interactive Design and Technology Centre to discover how good ideas can become great products. Find out how a little ingenuity will empower you to pull a real 10 ton locomotive or generate electricity from flowing water. Then test your co-ordination against the speed and accuracy of a robotic arm, build an earthquake-proof tower and experiment with an 'x-ray machine' to reveal the innards of items in daily use, such as a mobile telephone.

You can sketch out your own bright ideas in the Design Zone and join in one of the range of fun design and make challenges which run through all the major school holidays and watch amazing interactive shows on certain days. Enginuity is also home to the 'Scan-it' cutting edge technology - an ingenious system that zaps an infrared beam at exhibits, which are then brought to life on a nearby screen with explanations of what they are and where they come from.

One of the Ironbridge Gorge Museums, Enginuity is open 10am-5pm daily. A Passport to all ten museums valid for twelve months and unlimited return visits is available. Individual admission is available into any of the sites.

Special events and hands-on workshops activities take place over some weekends and during school holidays at Enginuity; these may carry an extra charge in addition to the entrance free. To check what's on and for further information, contact the Ironbridge Tourist Information Centre on  01952 433 424 or visit the website by following the link on the right of this page.

Ironbridge Gorge is easily reached via the M6 and M54 motorways exiting at Telford (M54 junction 4 or 6).
