In previous years the Parkinson’s Awareness weeks have taken the opportunity to reach more people who are directly or indirectly affected by the condition, raise funds to facilitate much needed research into better treatments, changed public attitudes toward Parkinson’s, and raised awareness of the services and support that is available to anyone affected by it. This outstanding work continues, and Parkinson’s Awareness Week 2019 aims to be the best ever in achieving these goals.

Parkinson’s Awareness Week is organised by Parkinson’s UK which is a Registered Charity, as such Parkinson’s UK needs fund raising and donations to allow it to continue with this exceptional work on behalf of all who are affected by the condition.

What can you do to help?

Individually people may make donations by going to:

https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/donate

where there are instructions available to help you, and please sign up for Gift Aid.

Collectively, people can organise through voluntary organisations, social groups, families and friends, to raise some money in aid of Parkinson’s Awareness Week 2019.

There are many outstanding ways to raise money. For the very energetic there are Sporting Challenges and events across the country in which to get sponsored and take part.Running a marathon? Why not donate your sponsorship money to Parkinson’s UK?

For the less energetic amongst us the opportunities are great to create an event i.e. coffee mornings, church bazaars, a tea dance, whatever you love to do there will be a way to earn a few pounds for the charity, and rest assured every penny raised counts! There are fund raising tools and information on the Parkinson’s UK website.

Check locally for Parkinson’s events or go to the Parkinson’s Awareness Week web site at:

https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/get-involved/events

for contact numbers and information to set up an event.

Parkinson’s UK and Parkinson’s Awareness Week is recommended by the Best of Taunton and Bridgwater.
