Welcome to the Quay Theatre Summer School, launched in 1991 and going stronger than ever.
A week like no other, students will have days packed full of acting, workshops, rehearsals, singing, stagecraft, silliness and tonnes of fun. It all leads up to two performances at the end of the week, based around an original theme picked every year, with all scenes written / choreographed by the course directors.
A large part of the Summer School is the camaraderie between the children, with the off-stage socialising and confidence-building just as important as the onstage antics. Indeed, such is the strength of the Summer School community and its impact on students, 3 out of the 5 course directors are previous attendees!
Never performed before? No problem! The Summer School is just as much for those who have never stepped on stage, as it is for those who have treaded the boards countless times before – all abilities welcome.
A mixture of ages and abilities, the Summer School is a one-of-a-kind melting pot of creativity and camaraderie.
