Heritage Open Days is England’s largest community festival of local history and culture. Sudbury is proud to take part once again.

Every September, we celebrate the people, places and stories that make our town unique. Hidden spaces open up. Local experts lead guided walks. Workshops, talks and activities bring our history to life. And every event is free to attend.

2025 Theme: Architecture
This year's focus is on the buildings that tell Sudbury’s story. From medieval timber frames to Georgian shopfronts and Victorian civic buildings, explore the architecture that shaped our streets.
